I know George Floyd’s death was wrong but what can I do?

Our Church has several resources available if you want to be part of the effort to dismantle racism. The June 1st West Ohio Conference News Net has Bishop Palmer’s response to the murder and protests as well as information on Peace With Justice Sunday (June 7th) and the June Prayer Focus which is Racism. In addition there are articles related to Emotional Wellness during the Covid-19 Crisis and how we are helping Native American communities affected by Covid-19.

The June 4th UM Daily News Daily Digest also has related articles giving examples of what other United Methodist churches are doing. On the United Methodist News Facebook page from June 1st to June 3rd are several posts about racism.

On June 1st, Foothills District Superintendent Dennis Miller posted his response to the deaths of George Floyd in Minnesota, Ahmaud Arbery in Georgia, and Breonna Taylor in Kentucky on his Facebook Page.

The Canaanville UMC is also compiling a list of adult and children’s resources. Look for them soon on our Facebook or Webpages.
